Admission Requirements for Engineering

Engineers solve problems by relying on their creative and academic skills. You should enjoy problem solving and be challenged by the effort it requires. While in high school you should take the following courses:

For engineering, advanced placement or honors level courses in high school are recommended. Combined SAT scores of 1110 (Math & Reading only) and graduation in the top 20% of your high school class, with no grades less than a “B” should be your goal.

The following courses are required for both the College of Engineering and the School of Engineering Technology:

  • English (4 units)
  • Algebra 1 & 2
  • Geometry
  • History (2 units)
  • one senior level math (select from trigonometry, pre-calculus, or calculus)

Science requirements for the College of Engineering:

  • Chemistry
  • Physics

Science requirements for the School of Engineering Technology:

  • one additional science
  • Physics
